PwnageTool позволяет делать персональные прошивки для джейлбрейка iPhone. Есть возможность установки логотипов, приложений и многого другого. Пользователи Windows давно мечтают о соответствующей версии. Но раньше DevTeam отказывалась портировать на отличные от Mac OS платформы.
Сторонними разработчиками даже был создан проект Sn0wBreeze, порт PwnageTool на Windows. К сожалению, пока результатов нет. Несомненно, решение от DevTeam будет востребовано и более надежно.
С помощью internet tethering можно использовать интернет подключение iPhone на десктопе или ноутбуке. Ниже приведено небольшое руководство для продвинутых пользователей. Всем остальным мы рекомендуем подождать новой версии PwnageTool или другой специальной утилиты.
A bsdiff patch to apply to CommCenter in 3.1.2 to re-enable tethering is available and . It’s just a 2-byte patch as shown below (and an appropriate readjusting of the mach-o’s codesign hash):

Update #1 It looks like a lot of people have been looking at CommCenter lately because IRC user CleanAir had a similar tethering patch. Meanwhile over in the 2G CommCenter, WhiteRat and geniusan for that platform. Kudos to CleanAir, WhiteRat, and geniusan for digging into CommCenter and coming up with patches!
Update #2 A few have started to pop up. Eventually this will be made a part of the normal PwnageTool flow but for now this is best left for the adventurous users out there!

bsdiff patches are the normal way that PwnageTool modifies Apple software. To apply one manually, you must first get the “bspatch” program. Then do:
bspatch CommCenter CommCenter-hacked CommCenter.patch
If you don’t have bsdiff but know how to use a hex editor, the differences are available in text format.
The correct SHA1 of the hacked file will be:

You would then remove the original program and replace it. Don’t forget to ensure it has execute permission!

After you’ve started using the hacked CommCenter, visit from your iPhone and install a new mobileconfig.

Эта утилита будет способна создавать кастомную прошивку версии 3.1.2 для джейлбрейка и анлока iPhone 2G, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch и iPod Touch 2G. Утверждается, что все уже готово и проведенные тесты были положительны.
MuscleNerd, члекн команды Dev-Team, опубликовал на твиттере новость о том, что ultrasn0w, утилита для разлочки iPhone 3G/3GS, отлично работает на прошивке 3.1.2 с версией baseband 04.26.08.
Получается, что Dev-Team работает над новой версией PwnageTool. Ниже скриншот, показывающий новую прошивку и старый baseband:
DevTeam выпустила Pwnage Tool 3.1-3, новую версию утилиты под Mac OS для джейлбрейка iPhone’ов и iPod Touch с прошивкой 3.1. Новая версия поддерживает с ограничениями iPhone 3GS и iPod Touch 2G. Естественно, по прежнему поддерживаются iPhone 2G (EDGE), iPhone 3G и iPod Touch 1G.
The iPhone 3GS is now supported in PwnageTool 3.1.3,assuming the phone was pwned at 3.0 or 3.0.1 – PwnageTool does not support the 3GS out of the box. If your iPhone 3GS has 3.1 preinstalled and is not Pwned then there is no tested jailbreak solution at the moment.
The iPod 2G is now supported in PwnageTool 3.1.3, assuming the iPod 2G was pwned at 3.0 or 3.0.1 – PwnageTool does not support the iPod 2G with 3.1 softwareout of the box.
