DevTeam recently released new version of redsn0w to jailbreak iOS 4.1<\/a>. New RedSn0w 0.9.6 b1 supports iOS 4.0 and iOS 4.1 running on iPhone 3G or iPod touch 2G.<\/p>\n

There is only Mac OS X x86 version, that you can download here<\/a><\/noindex>.<\/p>\n

Redsn0w is easy to use:<\/p>\n

  1. Download firmware here<\/a><\/noindex>.<\/li>\n
  2. Launch redsn0w 0.9.6 b1<\/li>\n
  3. Select your stock 4.1 or 4.0 ipsw (you\u2019ve already used this to update your device to 4.1 or \u00a04.0)<\/li>\n
  4. Select \u201cInstall Cydia<\/a>\u201d and any of the other<\/a> options shown above, then click \u201cNext\u201d. \u00a0Use DFU mode to install the jailbreak.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    IF YOU USE THE ULTRASN0W UNLOCK<\/a>, PLEASE WAIT FOR PWNAGETOOL TO SUPPORT 4.1. \u00a0DO NOT USE REDSN0W<\/strong><\/p>\n

    That\u2019s because to use redsn0w at 4.1, you need to already have updated to official 4.1 from Apple. \u00a0If you do that, you lose the ultrasn0w unlock (possibly forever).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
